Two different buildings on one Parliament Square site beside the Abbey are recorded in prints of the Guildhall at Westminster. Thomas Hosmer Shepherd's antique views of 1828 show the earlier guildhall, long before the present building opened in 1913, which became the home of the Supreme Court in 2009. Vintage prints of 1926 turn to that successor, the Middlesex Guildhall, standing on the site of the ancient sanctuary, with a study of the stone carving beneath the Middlesex coat of arms.
