Rothenburg ob der Tauber is the walled Franconian town above the Tauber, its market square and town hall wrapped in narrow streets and a surviving circuit of walls and gates. These vintage town plans, dated 1902, 1907, 1910, 1913 and 1914, were made for visitors exploring that historic centre in the years before the First World War, and their scale shows individual streets, the principal buildings and the edge of the old town clearly.
