Leicestershire’s castles and country houses, from the ruins of Ashby-de-la-Zouch to Coleorton and Whatton, form a close-knit local group among the engravings credited to Jones. Most are copperplate views catalogued around 1829, with a later view of Belvoir Castle from the 1830s. Ashby’s ruined castle recurs in several impressions, while Wistow and Lowesby add to the country-house landscape. Leicester appears in a town view and in a Roman building traditionally called the Temple of Janus, and a view of Coalville shows its church, parsonage and school together.
