Bombay docks, Lahore cantonments and maps of languages, religions and geology appear in these sheets from the atlas that accompanied the Imperial Gazetteer of India, the official account of the subcontinent. The new editions were published at the Clarendon Press in Oxford under the authority of the Secretary of State for India in Council, in issues dated 1909–1931. Provincial maps and regional railway maps cover the subcontinent, city plans show Bombay, Lahore and Calcutta, and thematic sheets add vegetation and relief. Nepal, Afghanistan, Tibet and Aden are included.
