Our extensive collection of U.S. state maps spans a rich array of 19th and 20th-century atlases and mapmakers, including leading American cartographic publishers such as Colton, Rand McNally, Johnson, Cram, and Mitchell. We also hold significant early and mid-19th-century material including Arrowsmith & Lewis, Thomas, Cowperthwait & Co., and maps from S.D.U.K. and Encyclopaedia Britannica. French interest is represented through Buchon's adaptation of Carey & Lea. State-specific highlights include Walling & Gray’s Atlas of Massachusetts. We also hold distinctive mid-century pictorial works including Taylor White’s A Gay Geography & Liozu's cute maps from Les États-Unis d’Amérique.
