'L'Itinéraire Officiel du Tour de France 52 - But et Club - Le Miroir des Sports'
The 1952 Tour de France covered 4,807 km over 23 stages. Italian legend Fausto Coppi claimed his second Tour victory in what is widely regarded as one of the most dominant performances in the race's history. His dominance was so large that the Tour organisation had to double the prize money for second place to make the race interesting. At the end, Coppi had a margin of almost half an hour over the second-ranked cyclist; such a margin has never since been achieved. Coppi won five stages, including iconic victories at Alpe d’Huez and Puy de Dôme, cementing his reputation as one of cycling's all-time greats. Stan Ockers of Belgium finished second, with Bernardo Ruiz of Spain in third. The mountains classification was also won by Coppi, highlighting his supremacy in the high-altitude stages. This edition is remembered for Coppi's total domination and for the introduction of finishes on mountain peaks, including Alpe d’Huez, which would go on to become one of the Tour's most legendary climbs.
