This edition of the Underground diagram has been redesigned using thinner lines and the broken lines representing peak hour services have also been redrawn using smaller blocks of colour. The Greenwich foot tunnel is shown as a separate feature on this version of the diagram. The first stage of the DLR between Tower gateway, Island gardens and Stratford is complete and the DLR link between Bank and Shadwell is marked as being under construction. The link between Bank and Monument Stations is not shown as a distinct feature on this map, instead it is represented by an extended white line interconnector. British Railways lines are now refered to as Network SouthEast in the key. The DLR routes between Tower Gateway, Stratford & Island Gardens are open (opened August 1987). There is no advert on the front cover.
