Journey planner No. 1 1987 [June 1987] (687/22616/2.000M (2882A))
This edition of the Underground map is the first to include the Docklands Light Railway - the sections from Stratford and Tower Gateway to Island Gardens opened in August 1987. The Greenwich Foot Tunnel is marked. British Rail services are shown as orange and white lines, with the new branch between Barbican and Elephant and Castle shown as opening in May 1998. The colours of some of the Underground lines have changed, with the Piccadilly line now a lighter blue and the Metropolitan line a darker purple. The District line to High Street Kensington is not shown as a separate line on this version of the diagram and the configuration of some of the interchange layouts has altered, for example the Piccadilly line at Kings Cross Station now passes under the Victoria line instead of the Metropolitan and Circle lines. The escalator link between Bank and Monument Stations now has the title Footway Link and is shown as a broken line. The front cover is plain white with the dark blue title and Underground roundel at the top.
