Nili Brachia Ambo Majora cum Oppidis et Vicis in utraque ripa sitis [The two great branches of the Nile with towns and villages situated on both banks]
A substantial folding map of the Nile Delta, concentrating on the two principal branches and the towns and villages along their banks. Cairo, Alexandria, Rosetta, Damietta and numerous smaller settlements are brought together in a practical geographical framework, with Arabic and European place-names reflecting Niebuhr’s linguistic and cartographic ambitions. The map is among the most desirable plates in this early section of the work, because it combines major Egyptian locations, river geography and Enlightenment-era field observation. It offers a useful corrective to more decorative but less precise European maps of Egypt. For collectors, the subject has strong crossover appeal: Egypt, the Nile, Alexandria, Cairo, Rosetta and the mapping of Arabic toponyms.

Packing
Items smaller than A4 size are usually packed in a stiffened, board-backed envelope. Larger items are rolled and packed in postal tubes. Large items which are too stiff to be rolled in wide-diameter tubes are mailed in all-board envelopes. In the unlikely event of damage in transit, please send the affected item or items back to us and we will provide a replacement or refund.

Returns
We accept returns for any reason if sent back to us within 14 days of receipt of your order. If any of your items are not as described, we will provide a full refund including reasonable return postage costs upon safe return to us.
