A scarce and important contemporary map of the southern theatre of the American Revolutionary War, depicting North and South Carolina and part of Georgia during the campaigns of 1780–1781, when the struggle for control of the southern colonies reached its climax. Rivers, roads, ferries, towns and frontier settlements are carefully recorded, together with the principal routes by which British and American armies manoeuvred across the region. Rather than illustrating a single engagement, the map presents the wider campaign in which control of communications and river crossings proved as important as success on the battlefield. Published in the London first edition of William Gordon's History of the Rise, Progress, and Establishment of the Independence of the United States of America, one of the earliest major histories of the Revolution, only seven years after the fighting it records, the map is encountered on the market only infrequently and is considerably scarcer than the better-known Revolutionary War maps issued in contemporary British magazines.

Packing
Items smaller than A4 size are usually packed in a stiffened, board-backed envelope. Larger items are rolled and packed in postal tubes. Large items which are too stiff to be rolled in wide-diameter tubes are mailed in all-board envelopes. In the unlikely event of damage in transit, please send the affected item or items back to us and we will provide a replacement or refund.

Returns
We accept returns for any reason if sent back to us within 14 days of receipt of your order. If any of your items are not as described, we will provide a full refund including reasonable return postage costs upon safe return to us. If you have changed your mind, you are responsible for the cost of returning the item to us. We describe the size, age and condition of all our products as fully and accurately as possible.
