Architects' drawings add T. C. Sorby's county court of 1871 and the girls' high school of 1907. The maps begin with Ogilby's road of 1675 through Huddersfield and Halifax to Richmond, followed by strips from Senex, Gardner, Owen and Bowen, Kitchin and Paterson. Jefferys in 1772 and Cary in 1794 and 1824 place the town in southern Yorkshire, the Ordnance Survey of 1841 covers the coalfield, and Geographia's plans of 1935 show the streets out to Worsbrough, Stairfoot, Dodworth and Monk Bretton.
