Dower, John

Antique maps by John Crane Dower (c1791-1846) and his sons John James Dower (1825-1901) and Frederick James Dower. John James Dower is best known for his maps for Cassells Weekly "Dispatch Atlas" (1862-1863); he contributed maps of the counties of Northern England, the Midlands and East Anglia, Italy & Switzerland, Austria & Hungary, New Zealand, and the environs of Paris. He also engraved maps for the Illustrated London News, and for atlases by G.W. Bacon.
