The Peace of Utrecht of 1713, with the related negotiations at Rastatt, helped end the War of the Spanish Succession and reshaped Europe's borders and overseas possessions. Two historical maps of 1902 and 1903 compare the colonies of Britain and France in the Americas and the West Indies after the settlement. An engraving of 1749 shows the monuments raised to celebrate the peace in Paris, Worcester and Dublin.
