Mount & Page - Antique Coasting Pilot sea charts

Mount & Page was a maritime publisher of sea charts from the late 17th century that became well known for its nautical maps. The firm was founded by Richard Mount (1654-1722) after the death of his father-in-law William Fisher (1631-1691), with whom he had been in partnership. He was later joined by Thomas Page (d.1769). The families intermarried and the business flourished under successive generations through the 18th century. The firm is best known for publishing early editions of Captain Greenvile Collins Great Britain’s Coasting Pilot (from 1693), and John Seller's English Pilot (from 1698). They also published Atlas Maritimus (1692-95), Atlas Maritimus Novus (from 1702), Navigatio Britannica (1750), and A complete set of new charts of the coasts of Portugal and the Mediterranean Sea (1764). Later generations went into politics; Prime Minister David Cameron is a direct descendant. See also Collins, Captain Greenvile.
