CAPTION PRINTED BELOW PICTURE: 'A Correct map of Minorca with an Accurate Plan of Fort St. Philip & its Environs and the French approaches and batteries in 1756'

At the time of publication, Menorca was under British control. This rare map was created to depict the ongoing siege of Fort St. Philip by French and Spanish forces, which began in August 1781 as part of the American Revolutionary War. The siege culminated in the recapture of Menorca from the British in February 1782. The island was formally returned to Spain under the terms of the Treaty of Paris in 1783.

Please check the scan for any blemishes prior to making your purchase. Packing

Items smaller than A4 size are usually packed in a stiffened, board-backed envelope. Larger items are rolled and packed in postal tubes. Large items which are too stiff to be rolled in wide-diameter tubes are mailed in all-board envelopes. In the unlikely event of damage in transit, please send the affected item or items back to us and we will provide a replacement or refund.
