Two maps on one sheet. The left hand map shows the province of Berry, including parts of the departements of Indre, Cher & Nièvre. Bourges is located at the centre of the map, Nevers at the right hand side. Other towns marked include Romorantin, Gien, Le Blanc, Châteauroux, and Châtillon-sur-Indre. The right hand map shows the Allier river valley in the present-day deparetement of Puy-de-Dôme, Auvergne. The map covers the section from Randan in the north to Cournon-d'Auvergne in the south. Clermont-Ferrand is prominently marked on the left hand side.

Items smaller than A4 size are usually packed in a stiffened, board-backed envelope. Larger items are rolled and packed in postal tubes. Large items which are too stiff to be rolled in wide-diameter tubes are mailed in all-board envelopes.
